One of the most powerful and haunting novels that I ever read is A Thread Of Grace by Mary Doria Russell. www.literati.net/Russell.com I still carry the story and the characters in my heart, and ever so often think of them with longing. With the Jewish Holidays approaching, the story becomes even more alive for me. As it is a fictional account
( based on actual recollections) of how everyday heroes in Italy worked to keep the Italian Jews from the camps during the war. Russell, will be at Andersons Book Shop in Naperville tomorrow, Tuesday at 7pm. www.andersonsbookshop.com with new novel Dreamers of the Day.
