I was traveling on business yesterday and when I picked up my USA Today, USA TODAY Snapshots caught my eye.  Listed on Wednesday were the nation’s best sellers.  Two of the three spots, infact one and two, were held by Stephanie Meyers.

With the new installment of the Twighlight series about to explode into the scene tonight at tomorrow night at midnight she will undoubtedly unseat herself at the number one spot.  USA Today lists the top 50 book list, why not see what made this list, www.top.150usatodya.com.  For all you stats buffs you will like this site, it has more then just a list.

the release of her new bookBreaking Dawn, the 4th and final installment in the Twightlight series, by going to her website http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/.  Note the counter is breaking down the days, hours, minutes and seconds so it is enough to put you into a trance.

It should also be noted that on Monday she leaked something about the new book plot that can only be found at Entertainment Weekly, http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20215228,00.html.  So if you have a tween at home that is driving you crazy be sure to let them know about this planned leak.

There are parties and events that are at bookstores and libraries all across the country so if you are not signed up for one or have a copy of the book reserved join the madness, there is still time.

It will be the biggest book event of the summer.  How fun that books can still create the buzz and that young people along with mid and older folks are awaiting this release with the same anticipation as well.

We are thrilled to be getting ready to feature Eleanor VS Ike  by Robin Gerber.  You may recognize that name as she is an expert on women, leadership and politics and with the release of this book at the beginning of this year with all that was going on in the political race you were lucky to see or hear from Robin.

In her new historical fiction novel, Eleanor VS Ike, Robin supposes what it would have been like if Eleanor Roosevelt chose to run against General Eisenhower in 1952.   The combination of facts and fantasy will engage history buffs and those that enjoy historical fiction with its altered history.   People were very drawn to Eleanor Roosevelt and will too.

If you are lucky enough to wake up in New York on Saturday, July 12th

run, do not walk to Thriller Fest 2008.  This year’s fest is being held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in the heart of Manhattan.  What a great opportunity to rub elbows with the mystery authors you read and love.  It is going to be alot of fun and the programming sounds like a great way to spend Saturday.

If you do go be sure to attend Laura Caldwell’s panel, she is the stunning redhead and she is a great writer and a friend to 24/8.  Laura’s panel is scheduled from 4:00 – 4:50 pm in the Uris/Julliard room.

The schedule reads like a whose who and you will most definitely enjoy being in the same location as this creative talent. http://www.thrillerwriters.org/thrillerfest/ThrillerFest%20Schedule.pdf.  From our experience at 24/8 these authors are just a riot to know and hang out with.

If you do have the chance to attend Thriller Fest, let us know all about it.  What were your favorite parts?  We would love to hear from you and we are so jealous you had the chance to attend.
