It is the time of the year when movies that want to be considered for 2008 Oscar nominations are being rushed to the big screen. On December 10th, The Reader, adapted from the best selling author Berhard Schlink will be releasted on a limited basis. It will hit the big screen everywhere in Jan, 2009.

to pick up the new book from football great Frank Gifford, it will be out in the stores today. This would be a great gift idea for those die hard football fans, sports historians or just those that love the history of sports in your life. It takes a great one of the game and one of their own to open the doors to those players that made the game great so many years ago.
The book, GLORY GAME, is about the 1958 NFL Championship game. Frank will be out and about signing books if you are located on the East Coast. It is a great holiday idea and to have an autograph and meet the great Frank Gifford an added bonus for the gift giver.

There are parties and events that are at bookstores and libraries all across the country so if you are not signed up for one or have a copy of the book reserved join the madness, there is still time.
It will be the biggest book event of the summer. How fun that books can still create the buzz and that young people along with mid and older folks are awaiting this release with the same anticipation as well.

Beatrice’s Goat is a children’s book that was inspired by a young girl and her goat of the same name. Beatrice and her Ugandan family were provided a goat by the nonprofit Heifer International in 1992. Profits from the sale of the milk paid for young Beatrice’s schooling.
The story inspired a children’s book that a portion of the profits go to Heifer International so they can continue to supply more livestock. So when you are thinking of a children’s book for your home, grandchildren or school why not pick up a copy of Beatrice’s Goat inorder for the circle to continue.
People Magazine published an update on the very special Beatrice from the book. Beatrice graduated from from Connecticut College and plans to go on for her Master’s. Bravo Beatrice, Bravo.
