24/8 is proud to partner with Warner Brothers for an upcoming screening on Thursday, September 18 at 7:00pm at the AMC Loews located at 600 No. Michigan.  It is going to be a fantastic evening out and while it might be enough to see this latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation before eveyone else does on Friday, September 26th, 24/8 can bring it to you for free.

To attend, simply sign on to www.gofobo.com/RSVP and enter the RSVP code BOOK5888 and you can print out not just one but two screen passes.  Now the space is limited and you are not guaranteed a seat, but spending the night with Richard Gere is certainly worth the effort.

The answer is Without a Backward Glanceby Kate Veitch.  This debut novel by the author has taken two continents by storm and now it has come to the U.S.  Thrilled to have the opportunity to share this book with you and we have book club reviews too that will be in the 24/8 Party Room.

you missed a terrific evening.  SoTish prepared food delights that set the tone as we all worked to dry off and just relax after tearing our hands from the steering wheel of our cars.  But once in, feed and dry the evening just took off thanks to our fabulous authors.

Libby Fischer Hellman, Renee Rosen and Kim Strickland answered questions and shared parts of themselves with our guests that created the basis for a very intimate and extremely fun night out.  I am sorry for anyone that missed it.

To everyone that came out last night thank you so much for your presence.  To Augie from Centuries and Sleuths, who spent the evening with us and provided books that were flying off the table, we are always happy to have you along for the journey.  To our SoTishfamily we are humbled.  Oh and lets not forget those that made the goodie bags heavy and over the top: Veni Vidi Val, The Papery, Office Max, Dining Out Magazine and Melissa Budak.

Stay tuned for the next 24/8 night out, we are cooking up something as I type this.

Join us at SoTish Gallery on Main Street in La Grange tonight

it will be a 24/8 night out.  On our 24/8 events we combine books and authors in interesting spaces.  Tonight is no different we will be joined by Renee Rosen, Kim Strickland and Libby Fischer Hellman.

Nibbles and drinks will be provided. There is a cash bar if you want something a little stronger.  24/8 Book Club is never complete without you, everyone is a member. Best of all with 24/8, there is never any cleaning or cooking you just grab a friend and come.

Okay just for the events you might want to put some shoes on vs those slippers.  But when you visit the virtual book spot where we meet, www.248bookclub.com, you can definitely wear those slippers to your heart’s content.

See you tonight, it simply would not be the same without you,

Falise and JoAnne

24/8 Book Club is proud to collaborate with For Her Information on books.  We are happy to participate in all things books.  The new selections have been posted and will remain on the For Her Information site through September.

When you have a moment take a look at this month’s selections, http://www.forherinformation.com/goodreadsart10808.php.  My editor who will remain nameless  worked me very hard this month to ensure that the postings were much better for all of you then when they started out.   I have new found respect for all of our authors and the excruciatingly painful task of editing.

What are we reading next at 24/8 Book Club

The next featured book is The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted by Elizabeth Berg. This entertaining collection of short stores involving small acts of liberation by women is a great summer read. You will want to read it and share it with a friend or give it to a friend going away on vacation.  This is a great read for all of the ladies on a ladies getaway.

Next, we are going to feature author Marisa de los Santos latest offering, Belong to Me.  With her fabulous offering Love Walked In  that was a New York Times Bestseller.

Remember the 24/8 Book Club has no rules.  We just want to remind you of the magic found inside of books and to never stop reading.  If you want to read what we are reading this is what is on deck and holding.  Best of all with 24/8 you don’t have to be part of any group, clean or cook we do all of the heavy lifting so you can just join us at the virtual club and put your feet up and enjoy.

See you soon

with 24/8 Book Club.  This time we have an exciting partner, ChicaGourmets!  They are experts at pulling together delicious evenings of wine and food pairings to delight.  But that is not all, our guest for the evening is author Elizabeth Berg.  Her latest book, The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted …a collection of short stories about women bucking the norm and everyday conventions and other small acts of liberation.

Our events are always fun and great night out with a friend or just come and make a friend but this progressive evening is a first.  We are going to be in Forest Park which is just outside of the city limits off of the Eisenhower and close to public transportation too.

So please come and join us and eat, drink and delight in the dishing with Elizabeth.  For further information check out the events page of our site, http://www.248bookclub.com/events/events.asp.
