We at 24/8 have to salute ABCTV for this great idea of a LOST book club.  Throughout the show books have been mentioned and now on the ABC TV site you can purchase those books, http://abctvstore.seenon.com/index.php?v=lost-bookclub-tc&pa=ABC_072808. If you have a LOST addict in your house that has lost the desire to read this might just get them back to it.  Why not pick up a book or two off of this list for the fan in your life.

If you are not a fan you will still enjoy checking out the list of books, it is very interesting and across the board. They are not the books you might have imagined.  Even if you are a fan it would be interesting to see if you can make a list in your head before you look to see if you can recall books they have mentioned.

Here’s hoping ABCTV continues with this tradition and expands it to other shows.

If you are in Downers Grove, IL you will not want to miss the Crafty Mama

Abby Pecoriellois is traveling the country tour for her recently published book, Crafty Mama Makes 49 Fast, Fabulous, Foolproof (Baby & Toddler) Projects.  Driven by the desire to dress her first baby in cute togs that did not break the bank, the Crafty Mama was born.  This clever mom has turned her crafting whiles to creating a whole platform for moms around the country to form Crafty Mama groups.

If you live in the N.Y. area you can enroll in Abby’s class, the rest of us have to make it ourselves. But you are not alone, Abby has provided a lifepreserver with this book.  Inside you are provided the steps to form a group and 49 wonderful projects to keep your group going for sometime.

The crafts are for experienced crafters and novices so don’t let that hold you back. Easy to follow step by step instructions and unbelievably cute results. Watch out, everyone in your life will be asking you to whip off one or another of these projects for them no matter what their age.

It is a great idea if you are planning a shower for a friend or know someone that is too.  Come out to meet Abby at Anderson’s Bookshop in Downers Grove, 5112 Main Street, 630-963-2665 at 3:00pm on Wednesday, August 6th.  You will want to grab a book or two and how fun to give them to friends with a special message from Abby.

Proud to include Abby and her book on my latest Good Reads monthly feature included in For Her Information On Line Magazine that will post later this week, www.forherinformation.com.  If you want to learn more about the Crafty Mama or about crafts post book check out her blog, http://craftymamas-playdate.blogspot.com/.

Even on the even of Stephanie Meyer’s big day J.K. Rowling announces a new chapter in the Harry Potter world.  This time it is five fairy tales from the wizard’s world translated by Hermione, J.K. Rowling contributes notes and illustration and Dumbledore adds his commentary.

You might remember this one copy that was up for action last year and with so many hopes dashed it now going to be available for everyone.  The Tales of Beedle the Bard  is available for pre-order today but will not come out till December 4th.  This is going to quite the year for youth adult reading and a few million not so young readers too, this is great news!

You can visit the sources at J.K. Rowling’s site, www.jkrowling.com for more insight and news as it develops.  It seems like we are starting holiday shopping in August with this announcement.
